Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year! The kids were beyond excited to wear their Chinese clothes to church today. Ori has been asking to wear his outfit, and Calla feels so pretty in her peacock dress. It's silky and she is all about how things feel.

We had fun celebrating a new holiday (for us) with these three crazies today. Ian and the kids picked up Chinese food after church. He said the waitress at the Chinese restaurant outlined Katee's face and said, "Her face looks Chinese? So cute!" Ian informed her that Katee was Chinese. ;)

We happily ate our Chinese food and then moved on to celebrating something extra special: Katee's 2nd birthday! (More on that later this week.)

When I student taught in a 2nd grade classroom I did an entire unit on Chinese New Year; I've always been fascinated by China. Since the holiday lasts 15 days, I'm glad we have more time to celebrate and we can incorporate it into preschool this week. Can't wait!
Catch up from last week . . .
Monday we headed to Kansas City for Katee's casting appointment. We left the house at 4:30am and Katee did not fall asleep the entire way there! Silly girl. The doctor was able to get quite a bit of movement in her feet, which was great to hear. She has done absolutely fabulous in her red casts. Nothing difficult about it this time. :)

Tuesday we celebrated Ian's birthday! So thankful for my hard-working, loving husband.

And then the week went downhill for me. The "little" cold that was starting Monday turned pretty nasty and I have been OUT. No fun. Praying the rest of the family stays healthy. I did manage to make a Valentine sensory tub for the kids. They love it. And they only play with it outside (6 little hands are so much messier than 2 or 4). ;)

Thankful for a new week!

Happy Chinese New Year! Your family looks beautiful and I hope you are on the mend soon and everyone misses the illness. Wonderful news about the casts working. I'll keep praying, I feel it in my heart she'll continue to do great! God bless!

Ori looks so OLD in his outfit! Love his hair, too :) I saw you guys from afar in church, but didn't get to say hi! Sorry! Looks like you had fun celebrating Katee's birthday!

Gong Xi Fa Chai!

Who doesn't love a 2 week reason to party?

Hope that you will feel better soon, Julie. While you are trying to rest up, pretend that you are the Chinese store owner taking a 2 week holiday to celebrate the New Year!
