It's beginning to feel like fall, which means trips to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin sugar cookies, pumpkin play dough, and pumpkins on the porch. (Can you tell I like pumpkin(s)?)

Ori said,"Mom, is it ok if I wear my pajamas to home school today? If I went to real school, I would not wear my jammies." Ha!
For something non-pumpkin related, we made shape scarecrows today. Very simple, and Ori and Calla are pretty proud of their creations. Idea is from here.

After we made scarecrows, we acted out the "Dingle-dangle Scarecrow." Ori really got into it and thought it was hilarious . . . Calla, not so much. (Hopefully your kids will respond like Ori.)
Dingle-Dangle Scarecrow
When all the cows were sleeping and the sun had gone to bed (Action: Curl up, head tucked in)Up jumped a scarecrow and this is what he said: (Action: Jump up. Body is limp, head is hanging)
"I'm a dingle-dangle scarecrow with a flippy-floppy hat (Action: Make a rocking motion from foot to foot, with a floppy body and nodding head)
I can shake my hands like this (Action: Limply shake hands)
And shake my feet like that." (Action: Limply shake feet)
When all the hens were roosting and the moon behind the cloud (Action: Curl up, head tucked in)
Up jumped a scarecrow and this is what he said: (Action: Jump up.
