Katee's care package

On: Thursday, August 30, 2012

I received word this morning that Katee received her care package from us!!

That means this sweet one was told about her family early this week. She was shown a picture of her mama, baba, gege (big brother), and jie jie (big sister).

The thought of her "meeting" us brings tears to my eyes. Oh, how I am praying for her to understand that she has a family (as much as an 18-month-old child can understand, that is). I am praying for her heart as she waits for us to come; it will most likely be a very difficult transition for her as she will have to leave everything and everyone she knows. :(

Besides the very-important family photo book, Katee's care package included:

  •  a couple of dresses (Old Navy)
  • hair clips made by Mommy
  • bubbles (for her and her friends)
  • a toy phone (picked out with love by her siblings)
  • a sweet book with her picture in it ("I Love You")
  • yogurt bites
  • candy for the nannies
  • a thank you card to her healing home

It all fit nicely in a shoebox. I am so excited she received this little package! We love you Katee Qing!!

I love reading adoption stories. Especially those that paint a realistic, God-centered picture of it. Here are a few you do not want to miss (have your Kleenex ready):

very exciting...waiting is so hard. Can you send her one of those books where you record your voice and she could learn to know it? She is one lucky girl to get you as a mom!
