Branson Vacation {2012}

On: Tuesday, August 14, 2012

We left for Branson last Thursday evening for our annual family vacation (we missed you, Boccias!). Unfortunately, we brought our camera without a battery, so we don't have many pictures this year. Check you last year's Branson trip here, if you wish. It's fun to see how much Calla has grown.

The kids were so much fun the entire trip! They were both at an easier age (didn't have to pack portable high chair, bottles, milk, etc.) and truly enjoyed everything we did. They loved spending the weekend with Papa, Grammy, Uncle Jarrod, and Aunt Bekah.

We left a little before bed time on the trip there and right before nap time on the way home . . .

so there was a whole lot of this in the car. Awesome!

We spent lots of time at the lake this year (no pictures). Calla transformed into a little fish and was swimming everywhere with a big smile on her face. She is still talking about swimming, the lake, jet skis, and her floaties. Ori was more hesitant in the water and stayed in places he could touch, but he had tons of fun collecting treasures (bottle caps, shells, etc.). He would only ride the jet ski with Papa; for some reason he didn't think Mommy knew how to drive a jet ski?! I was proud of him for wanting to ride and being brave. Ori had been praying that God would help him be brave enough to jet ski. :)

Since China is on our brains, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to see the Acrobats of China perform Saturday evening at the New Shanghai Theatre.

It was so cool!

Ori giggled a lot during the show and was amazed what the acrobats could do. Calla ate a bunch of snacks and behaved decently--a little sensory overloaded for sure, but that girl has come a long way.

We played mini-golf before heading home on Sunday. I love my family!

I wish I had more pictures, as it was truly a wonderful/relaxing trip. We (the adults) stayed up late each night playing games and laughing. That is always a highlight.

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for another awesome getaway!!
