"Glory in his holy name;
 let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always."
Psalm 105:3-4

While I am very much looking forward to the day when our approval is granted and I am able to share pictures of our littlest daughter, our agency informed us yesterday that we will probably be waiting at least 120 days. Not the information I was hoping for. No reason given for the extended timeframe. It's just what the agency has been seeing from China's end right now. All that to say, we are probably looking at another 2-4 weeks of waiting.

I received an email from a sweet blog reader this morning encouraging me to not grow weary in waiting. A few minutes after processing her email, I read Psalm 105 and am clinging to this truth today: Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. I very much want to be present with my family right now and find joy and strength in the Lord while I wait. No matter what the test, God can always be trusted; it is always God's will that is done.

We played with baking soda and colored vinegar this morning. I've seen various ideas for this activity popping up everywhere lately, so we had to try it. I placed baking soda on a plate and gave Ori and Calla a couple containers of colored vinegar and an eye dropper.

I loved Calla's face when she saw the fizzing reaction (after figuring out how to use her eye dropper).

Ori, of course, thought his "buggy friend" needed to be part of the fun, so his plate of baking soda also included a dead cicada. Awesome.

Here it is up close. The cicada is currently sitting on my kitchen counter as Ori believes it needs to stay safe. Double awesome.

You might make sure to supervise this activity. The kids were doing so well that I took a break and called my sister. I heard screaming from the kitchen. Ori "accidentally" squirted vinegar in Calla's eye.  Not so sure that was an accident, but she was fine after rinsing with water.

I have to share one of my cakes from last week. One of my friends planned a drive-in-movie-themed birthday party for her daughter and asked me to make a coordinating cake. They had a projector and screen outside (complete with red curtains!) and played a movie at dark. Cute party idea!

Here is the cake I made for the party:

The inspiration/directions are from here. It was such a fun cake to do.

Julie that cake is my favorite one yet!! Great job! We loved the vinegar experiment too. I filed it away for a winter day activity.

Where can you buy eye droppers?

Not only did the cake look AMAZING, it tasted awesome, too! Thank you so much, Julie! You are so creative and I highly recommend you to anyone needing a cake!

Megan, I got the eye droppers from drugstore.com because I had free shipping . . . but they are Walgreens brand so I'm guessing you could find them there. :)

BOOOOO on having to wait even longer :( You are doing an amazing job being present with Ori & Calla and waiting for His timing. I seriously love that cake and party idea. Might have to steal that one. Can you make the cake and ship it?? ;) Love you bunches. We are all sick at the Moffat zoo and have been a mess but will catch up soon.
