There is joy in being a mother. Even though the description fails to include sick days and contains little "me" time, it is the most rewarding/challenging/fulfilling job.
I am thankful for these two blessings. They are my daily reminders to
be selfless, patient and intentional. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes I
have to say, "Mommy is sorry. Mommy did not react in a loving way." Yet, I
have found those two little people to be quite forgiving. I learn so much from them. They are
treasures; my little lovies.
I have another baby across the ocean and honestly felt a bit
incomplete today.
(Sorry I had to blur her face. She is mesmerizing; take my word for it for now.)
I thought about her birth mother and what she might feel. The loss they both experienced is too hard to wrap my mind around, but I am forever thankful China Baby's birth mother chose life for her daughter.
I cannot wait to have my littlest one in my arms. Sometimes that day seems so far away, but I do not want to waste the waiting season either.
Thank you, my sweet husband and children, for making it a joy to be a mother.

i thought of you today while we ate the yummy Asian Cabbage Salad that you shared...and i prayed for your sweet baby in China. I can imagine it is very easy to "waste the waiting season" by worrying and rushing...i will pray for peace and patience.
