32 Days.

On: Sunday, May 6, 2012

We are on Day 32 of waiting for our Letter of Approval (LOA) from China (it's basically a letter from China officially approving us to adopt the child we accepted). The average wait time is around 70-90 days, I believe. We cannot move forward with our adoption until we receive this piece of paper. Waiting is so hard.

I did meet a family at a wedding yesterday who lives in our little one's province in China-how cool is that?! She told me that it is a miracle our little one was available for adoption as very few of the children in that particular province get their paperwork completed to be adopted (sooo sad as there are many kids who need families there). That also explains why I have had a hard time finding information about her orphanage. I am excited to talk some more with this family and learn details about our daughter's homeland.

Thankfully, our days of waiting have been fun and busy.
FUN

The kids have been spending lots of time outside. Untitled
Thursday we enjoyed a family picnic at the park before an evening trip to the library.

Untitled
Calla and Ori come alive at the park. It's so fun to watch them play.

Untitled
Running through the sprinkler with cousins is also a treat.

Untitled
Cousin Sophie adores Calla. She takes such good care of her. I wish I would have captured Calla's face when she came out dressed like a princess-earrings, crown, princess dress. Sophie did good.

Untitled
Summer salads. This Asian Cabbage Salad was really good. Easy too. It's a perfect dinner on a warm day. (Thankfully my husband likes salad for dinner.)

Untitled
Snow cones! We have these about every day (WARNING: The sugar free syrup is not very good). The kids LOVE them. Ian bought this snow cone machine when we were in college and he had no money. I was very unhappy with him at the time for spending $20 on a silly machine. But now I am quite thankful for it as it makes inexpensive treats for the kids.

BUSY
Cake orders keep coming in, and I am thankful for this way of providing continual funds for our adoption. Every little bit helps us reach our goal to bringing our daughter home. Unfortunately, I have been TERRIBLE at taking pictures of the cakes. . .  I will try to do better and share some soon. :)

We continue to keep your family in our prayers.

I remember waiting for our daughter to receive her diagnosis. There was only weeks between her tests and the confirmation BUT each of those days was a trial. Now I look back and know it was part of God's plan to teach me the patience I would need in years to come.

Loving the pics of your kiddos. Thank you for sharing.

We love our little sno-cone maker, too! Last year I bought silicone cups at Target. Still the fun sno-cone cups, but you can wash them again and again! :)
