The water beads were a hit!

Ori said this was his favorite sensory tub yet.
It's like a tub of little, slippery bouncy balls.

Calla seemed so big to me today while she played.
Once she figured out she was not allowed to eat them, she had fun placing them one by one into her bucket.
She giggled when they bounced.

They played nicely for quite a while and it was so fun to watch them.

If you have toddlers at home, pick up some water beads next time you are at Wal-Mart (they were located at the end of an aisle in the crafty section--they are meant to be used in flower vases).
They are 2 dollars and totally worth it.

Thanks Play at Home Mom for the great idea!

The beads are non-toxic, but the package says they can be a choking hazard. Use with supervision.

GREAT idea, Julie!! How fun! Do you know how long they last?

Amy, I haven't had them long enough to know how long they last, but the package says that when they start to shrink to refresh them by soaking in water again. So it sounds like they could last a long time. (Unless your children squish them up like mine started doing! Now that they experienced that aspect of it, breaking them is now a "no-no")

love these pics...she is getting so big! I appreciate the offer to help. I think childcare during the day when steve is at work is almost covered for now. maybe a meal that can be thrown in the freezer? That or just come over for an evening and help us wear Logan out!

I just went to Walmart and bought some and now they are soaking in a tub. I'm so excited to see them in the morning and I think my boys will really enjoy them. Thanks for the inspiration!

I wasn't sure if Walmart Canada would sell them, so I found them at rainbowwaterbeads.com. Prices are really reasonable (a couple of bucks for a 10g bag), and they have tons of colours. I think they ship free in the U.S., and they definitely ship free to Canada if order is less than 20.00. I can't wait to get mine! Thanks for a super post!
